MOAI should be usable by every student in Morocco, including students with disabilities, with older devices or with slow connections. This page describes what the platform offers, what still has limitations and how to ask for help.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA in English and Arabic. The platform has not yet been audited by an independent organisation, so we do not claim full conformance.

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2

What the platform provides

  • a reading-preferences menu (the accessibility icon in the header): larger text, high contrast, reduced motion, wider text spacing, underlined links and a plainer typeface;
  • light, dark and system themes;
  • full keyboard use, a “Skip to main content” link and visible focus outlines;
  • page landmarks, headings and form labels for screen readers, with errors announced and linked to their fields;
  • complete Arabic (right to left) and English versions;
  • respect for your device’s “reduce motion” and high-contrast settings;
  • layouts that work when zoomed to 200% and on small phone screens.

Known limitations

  • The notebook editor is a third-party component (JupyterLite). Its keyboard and screen-reader support is more limited than the rest of the platform, and its first load can take up to a minute on a slow connection.
  • Some figures and charts in lessons and problems do not yet have a full text description.
  • Some mathematical formulas may be read imperfectly by screen readers.
  • Timed contests have a fixed duration by default.

Adjustments for contests

If a disability or medical condition affects how you take part, for example if you need extra time, a different format for a statement or help with the notebook, write to us before the contest. We will consider each request individually and keep it confidential.

Report a problem or ask for help

If something on the platform is hard or impossible for you to use, tell us which page, what you were trying to do and, if you can, which device and assistive technology you use. We will try to answer within five working days.
